Short version
Be kind, be accurate, protect privacy, and do not give or take medical advice. We moderate lightly but firmly — posts that put people or patients at risk will be removed.
1. Who the community is for
The IMG2NHS community is for internationally trained doctors and medical students who are exploring, preparing for, or already on the path to working in the NHS. Members can post questions; anyone can read. If you are a recruiter, trainer, or service provider, contact us before promoting anything.
2. Be respectful and constructive
- Treat every member as a colleague.
- Disagree with ideas, not people. No personal attacks, harassment, or discrimination.
- Keep feedback constructive. "I had a different experience" is fine; "that is stupid" is not.
- English is the shared language so the widest group can follow and search later.
3. No clinical or patient-specific advice
This is a professional-support community, not a clinic. You must not:
- Ask for or give diagnosis, treatment, or prescribing advice.
- Share any information that could identify a patient, colleague, or trust.
- Post photos, scans, or documents containing clinical data.
If you need clinical guidance, speak to your supervisor, GP, or the appropriate regulatory body.
4. Protect your own privacy
The forum is public and indexed by search engines. Do not share your GMC reference number, passport details, visa case numbers, home address, phone number, or exact workplace unless you are comfortable with them being visible online permanently. Use a display name that does not identify you if you prefer.
5. Keep posts relevant and high quality
- Use a clear, specific title.
- Include your stage, country of training, and timeline when it helps.
- One topic per thread so future members can find answers easily.
- Search existing threads before asking — your question may already be answered.
6. What is not allowed
- Spam, self-promotion, or repeated unsolicited links to paid services.
- Job adverts posted without our approval.
- Copyrighted material (past papers, proprietary courses, book scans).
- Misinformation about GMC, visa, or NHS rules that could harm someone's career.
- Hate speech, threats, or content that targets individuals or groups.
7. Moderation and enforcement
IMG2NHS admins and moderators reserve the right to edit, move, hide, or delete posts and replies that breach these guidelines. In repeated or serious cases we may suspend or remove a member's posting rights without refund. We do not edit opinions simply because we disagree with them.
8. Reporting a problem
If you see a post that breaks these rules, contact us at community@img2nhs.com with a link to the thread and a short explanation.
9. Changes
We may update these guidelines as the community grows. Material changes will be posted here and, if you have an account, emailed to you.
